Launching Foundations for Success Springfield
DOMORRE Marketing transformed a state initiative into a recognizable community resource serving parents, caregivers, educators, and young children throughout Springfield, MA.
Background
In early 2025, local leaders from Springfield Public Schools, HCS Head Start, the YMCA of Greater Springfield, and Square One Springfield had a vision. They wanted to create a central hub where parents, caregivers, educators, and community partners could access resources and support for young children.
What they didn't have was a public identity.
There was no name. No logo. No brand voice. No messaging. No social presence. No website content. And because the initiative was designed to evolve over time, leadership wanted a name that would allow the work to grow beyond early education.
DOMORRE Marketing was brought in to help build the brand from the ground up.
Our Role
Rather than beginning with visuals, we organized branding discussions designed to uncover the mission, audience, and long-term goals of the initiative.
Our role included:
Brand discovery and stakeholder discussions
Naming strategy and trademark considerations
Logo development and refinement
Brand voice, positioning, and messaging
Brand guidelines and visual standards
Website copywriting
Campaign creative and promotional assets
Social media setup and content strategy
Email marketing strategy and communications planning
Launch support
While we led the brand strategy and content development, Wild Apple Design Group led the website development and implementation.
The Challenge
The initiative faced several unique challenges:
No existing public identity
Multiple stakeholders and partner organizations
A need to communicate with parents, caregivers, educators, and service providers simultaneously
Misconceptions surrounding early childhood services and eligibility
The desire to create something simple, welcoming, and enduring
Insight
Families seeking resources often feel overwhelmed.
Through stakeholder conversations, one theme surfaced repeatedly:
"I just want to know where to go."
Parents and caregivers needed simplicity and clarity. Educators wanted support and collaboration.
The goal was to create a trusted place where families could feel supported and know they weren't navigating childhood challenges alone.
Strategy
Build a brand that feels approachable, collaborative, and capable of growing with the community.
Key pillars included:
Naming & Positioning
Developing several naming concepts and facilitating discussions around mission, audience, and long-term impact. Ultimately, stakeholders selected Foundations for Success Springfield, a name designed to support growth beyond preschool initiatives.
Visual Identity
Creating logo concepts and presenting them in person to the team. Feedback sessions and collaborative refinement led to a final identity that felt warm, welcoming, and community-focused.
Messaging & Brand Voice
Defining the mission, positioning, and communication style to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
Digital Content Development
Writing website copy and campaign messaging designed to help families easily understand available resources and services.
